Taking the first step towards change

I am here to help you find your way - with empathy, understanding and an individual approach tailored to your personal needs.

About Me

I believe that, ultimately, we all hold the key to our own healing, growth and self-development. But I also know how important it is to have the right help and support while we navigate this journey. That is what I aim to offer in therapy; a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space for you to work through whatever challenges, distress or pain you may bring.

As an Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, I aim to create a supportive environment where we work together towards your therapeutic goals. My integrative training allows me to adapt the way we work to suit your needs and aims. This can look like a traditional talking therapy approach, the inclusion of psychoeducation to empower you to understand your processes, incorporating mindfulness practices and bodywork or the use of imagery work and creative art.

Whether you are dealing with depression, stress or anxiety in the present, or working through the impact of difficult or traumatic experiences from your past, I offer a space where these can be explored without shame but with curiosity and compassion.

Other Work

Alongside my work as a therapist I am involved in creating guidebooks to the Camino de Santiago

Viewing modern pilgrimage, beyond its traditionally religious context, as an opportunity for self-reflection and personal development. Stepping out of our comfort zone to find space and a slowed pace within nature, where we may discover new perspectives on ourselves and our lives.

Training, Qualifications and Experience

I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and hold a diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling from the Northern Guild of Counselling and Psychotherapy. This training was integrative with Transactional Analysis (TA) as a core modality.

Other areas of interest I have explored through my continued professional development include working with mindfulness based interventions, integrating elements of Internal Family Systems (IFS), transpersonal psychology and creative imagery and artistic interventions. I have experience working with depression, anxiety, self-harm, eating disorders, trauma, and struggles in relationship both with self and others.

I work in private practice and within the charity sector for a local organisation that specialises in working with Self-harm.
